the Coincidental Catastrophic 4 C's

the 4 C's - Chinese, Chemistry, Connex and Coles, which made my life so horrible within 48hrs on the 4 & 5th of September. It's gotta be the worst day for the past 2 months or so. I am warning you... this blog entry is gonna be long one. So if you don't have the patience, cbb to read it, STOP NOW. But if ya wanna... nothing's stopping you.

It all happened in the early hours of Friday (4th Sept). I woke up specially early to study for my Chinese mid-semester test. I slept at 12am ish, and hoping to wake up early in the morning to study for it because I was so tired from doing jack-sh*t during that day. I woke up at 4am. When I woke up at 4am, I thought to myself, 'hrm, a bit early hey? I don't need to leave the house until 7:20am. Let's sleep for another hour and study then.' Well, I did end up waking up at 5am ish to start studying. But it wasn't enough time to cram all those Chinese words from chapters 10-14 in roughly 2 hours. I got up to Chapter 13 and time was up. I had to leave the house to get to uni. I continued cramming on the train trying to cram those damn words. I had to do it, it was worth 10% of my subject mark.

Oh my, the test was so bloody hard. Most of the words I crammed in the morning when through one ear and out the other. I was trying to translate sentences in English to Chinese. I was having so much trouble cos I was tired from waking up so early. My brain was just out of the zone. It wasn't in Chinese mode at all. I started to speak in canto in my head to help me translate those bloody sentences. It helped a bit :). And for the stupid multiple choice section, I had a crack at it. But I eventually gave in and peeked at my mate's answers when the teacher went out of the class for a second or two. lol~ Well, I think I passed. I guess the main thing was that I tried...

Chemistry. My science elective. I met up with my friend after uni, planning to do the Chemistry Mid-Semester Test together. It was a multiple choice test done online. The lecturer said that the test will be put up at 6pm. I planned to do it my friend because I figured that 2 brains would be better than 1 you know? And also, I haven't really studied that much for Chemistry so if I got any help it would of been beneficial. We meet up at 3pm after our Chem lecture. We bummed around on the uni computers, you-tubing, playing mini games and doing other useless crap while we waited for the test to be put up. When the clock striked 6:00pm, guess what? The test was not online. So we decided to wait because we didnt want to leave to do the test till next week since we have other stuff to do. And I guess we just wanted to get it out of the way. We waited for another hour, there was still no test! 8pm, 8:30pm, 9:00pm~there was STILL NO TEST! It was getting to late, so we cursed the Chemistry department and we packed up and headed down to Melbourne Central to catch the train home.

We thought we were going to miss the train that we were intending to catch, But when we got to MC train station, we were like 'phew... we still have 5 minutes to spare before the Werribee train arrives. LUCKY!' Seeing it's Connex, and the fact I was having a disastrous day, what do you think happen?

It was not a delayed train, nor a canceled train. I could of dealt with either situations. It was neither. It was.. "Attention Passengers. The Werribee, Sydeham, Cragieburn and Upfield trains on platform 3 will not run until further notice. This is due to an incident at Parliament Station. Please make your way to Flinder's Street Station for direct service at North Melbourne via Swaston's Street." I was like... great~ so much for trying to get home a bit earlier so I can sleep and wake up on time for work the next morning. So my mate and I traveled down to Flinder's Street, waited for a while and finally got on a train back home! Got home fairly late. Around 10:30pm. It was a long drastic day. Woke up at 5am, and didn't really sleep until 1am-ish. (my fault. was msn-ing when I got home) I checked whether the Chem test was online when I got home, and it WAS! Bloody hell.

I was supposed to get up at 6:30am for a 7am start at work. But I was so tired after being awake for more than 20 hrs straight, I slept in... lol. I was late to work! But luckily the managers weren't in that early and the guy I work with in the morning is pretty easy going. So I didn't get into trouble. Well, I hardly get into trouble at Coles anyway. But it was so much work in the morning today. Instead of my usual schedule of spending 1 hr on Value Added, 2 hrs on Quality Checks and 1 hr of facing and then lunch, I had too fill for 4 hrs. grr! I was so tired by the time lunch came about. I was to tired for the arvo shift, I started pointing and telling the little ones what to do, because I didn't want to do it myself.

What a Coincidental Catastrophic 48 hours huh? I hope I never have to go through something like that ever again.
